Mikaelyn Austin

Mikaelyn Austin is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and founder of Philly Philms, an award winning, full-service, multi-media production company based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that provides creative production services from concept to cutting room floor, specializing in documentaries for broadcast and retail distribution. Philly Philms’ work has been featured on such reputable networks as ESPN Classic, ESPN U, Fox College Sports, Comcast and Comcast SportsNet and has received glowing press coverage on regional and national TV news, radio and print media such as CBS, Fox, NBC, ABC, ESPN Radio, ABC Radio National Australia, MLB.com, Sports Illustrated Online, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Band of Pirates marks the third feature documentary to tab Austin as writer/director, and the second regional title produced by Philly Philms that has achieved national broadcast and retail distribution. Austin’s first feature documentary endeavor, The Palestra: Cathedral of Basketball (http://www.palestradocumentary.com), a feature-length saga on the history of college basketball’s most storied arena, was licensed by ESPN in 2007 for national broadcast distribution on ESPN-U and ESPN Classic.
